Plot Description:
Douglas Days Weekend is Jackson Douglas’s favorite time of year. Just him, Grandpa, fifty acres of woods, and no annoying, know-it-all little sister, Jilly. That is until he finds out that Jilly has been invited. Jackson tries not to let Jilly ruin his trip but is consumed with anger. Bickering leads to an epic battle of emotional destruction, pushing Jilly to take off into the dense woods all by herself, believing her big brother hates her. In an attempt to make amends, Jackson follows Jilly but finds himself lost. Desperate to find, not only, his sister but his way back to the campsite, he stumbles upon, the EverTree. Jackson is so overwhelmed by the magnitude of the tree and the whimsical qualities of the leaves that he hardly notices the inset handprint on the trunk of the tree. He places his hand on the handprint and reads the inscription that surrounds it. ‘Ask and it shall be given unto you, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened unto you,’ Matthew 7:7. The EverTree begins to glow and Jackson is met with Judah, the brother of Joseph. Judah shares his story about his anger towards his little brother, Joseph helping Jackson discover the root of his anger.
